Horse Abuse and Neglect

Unfortunately, many horses in the United States are abused and neglected every day. DTHR is establishing a relationship with Humane Societies, Animal Control agencies, and local and state law enforcement to offer shelter and care for horses that have been seized as part of an animal cruelty case.

If you need to report a case of suspected neglect or abuse, please contact your local Humane Society or law enforcement (feel free to print or download the Reporting Abuse/Neglect form). Local and state police are able to enforce animal cruelty laws.

If you have received no satisfaction on your complaint, please contact DTHR and send us a copy of the Reporting Abuse/Neglect form:
